TWO YEARS FULL TIME

This two-year Diploma course is designed to equip future journalists with the practical skills required for a career in the fast-paced world of journalism, be it in print, broadcast or electronic media. Students learn practical applications for use in newspapers, magazines, radio, Internet and corporate communications. Students interact with industry professionals and, where available, short internships are arranged at broadcast and print organizations.

  2. Production of radio news and features
  3. Basic digital sound editing
  4. Radio presentation and pronunciation
  5. History and function of radio news

 

Television Journalism (Terms 3 & 4)

  1. News writing for television
  2. TV presentation and interviewing
  3. History and function of TV journalism
  4. Bulletin compiling
  5. Broadcast restrictions and regulations
  6. News documentaries
  7. Digital editing: PremierePro

 

Web Journalism (Term 3)

  1. Using Search engines
  2. HTML and web page design
  3. Writing for the web
  4. Building, running and maintaining web news sites

 

History of Journalism (Terms 1 & 2)

  3. Changing media world


Media Theory

  1. Theory of Communication & Mass Communication

Media Law (Term 2) Law:
